About Us

Lynn Peters, Founder of Burkina Faso Outreach, sensed a call to missions while working as District Manager for a child care corporation. She had received an M.A. in Education Administration and a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, and her professional career had evolved from Preschool Teacher to Director of multiple programs. Lynn had helped start on-site child care centers for corporations – from the design and construction phase through the National Accreditation process. Her experience includes business management, teacher training, curriculum development, and leadership development.

Often asked how she went from there to Burkina Faso, West Africa, Lynn explains, “I had reached a point in my career where I felt like I had benefited from the expertise of others, and now it was time to share my gifts where I could make a greater impact in improving the quality of life for young children. Life was comfortable where I was. It was time to step out of the comforts of the U.S. and go where others were unable to go.”

Lynn is from a family of eight and was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, (U.S.A.).  As a single woman, a professional career woman, and a Christian with a heart to serve the Lord, she has resided in Burkina Faso, West Africa since June 2003. When asked how long she plans to stay, she responds, “All I can say is, I feel like we’re just getting started, and I can’t imagine leaving. I’ll always miss my family and friends and everything else I used to take for granted; but I’m blessed by both worlds as I get to experience life in a third world country as well as return home each year.”

Sharing the Love of Christ Through Word and Deed

Burkina Faso Outreach builds Christian schools with early childhood and elementary grade classrooms which follow Burkina Faso educational guidelines, while incorporating the Word into the curriculum, and teaching using Bible-based methods.

We recruit, disciple, and train those who have a desire to teach, providing on-the-job training, mentoring, coaching, observation and evaluation.  This training is also offered to other schools in Burkina.

We serve those in need through community assistance and sponsorship programs, making education possible for many while also caring for their basic needs through food, medical, and emergency assistance.

We believe the Bible to be the absolute authority and truth inspired by God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe in one God, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the blessed trinity. (John 10:30; John 14:26; Philippians 2:5-7; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, who died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:24; Romans 10:9-10)

We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, who was born of a virgin, died on the cross, rose from the dead and is now seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for all the saints. (Matthew 1:18-25; Matthew 28:5-7; Isaiah 53:4-6; Hebrews 9:24; Romans 8:34)

We believe in the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign over everything new. All those who have accepted Him as Savior will spend eternity in fellowship with God in heaven. (John 14:1-3; 2 Thessalonians 1:8-10; Philippians 3:17-21)
